Information Technology Management for Strategic Business Leadership: A Programme for Future CIOs and CTOs
- IIM Ahmedabad
Programme Overview
This gap, both perceived and real, often stems from a lack of formal management training, which limits their understanding of business functions and their interconnectedness. For instance, to effectively contribute to the procurement team, IT managers at pre-CXO, CIO and CTO levels must grasp the entire procurement process. To assess the benefits of technology investments, they need financial acumen; to ensure technology delivers customer value, they must understand marketing; to comprehend how the business provides value, they should be familiar with the strategy, and to facilitate acceptance of technological changes, they need insights into behavior and change management.
For IT managers, especially those with engineering or technical backgrounds, it is crucial to gain a deep understanding of business concepts and effectively integrate them into the broader organizational framework. IIMA’s first-ever technology leadership training programme is specifically designed to bridge this gap, equipping IT professionals with the interdisciplinary skills needed to align technology with business strategy and drive organizational success.
